What does the Website Technology Checker show?

Our free tool, similar to BuiltWith or Wappalyzer, analyzes a website and lists the technologies behind it: the hosting company or cloud provider, the content management system (WordPress, Shopify, Wix, ...), the programming language (PHP, Python, Node.js, Ruby, Java, .NET), the web and JavaScript frameworks (Laravel, Django, Next.js, React, Vue, ...), the web server, CDN, analytics tools and its DNS and email providers.

How can I find out what a website is built with?

Enter the domain in the Website Technology Checker. NameOcean loads the home page and inspects its HTTP headers, cookies, meta tags and scripts to identify the CMS, framework, programming language, web server and CDN.

How do you find out where a website is hosted?

The domain's IP address belongs to a network (ASN) registered to a hosting company or cloud provider. We look up that network, the reverse DNS name and provider-specific headers to name the host.

Why does the hosting provider show Cloudflare?

When a site is behind a CDN or proxy such as Cloudflare, visitors only see the CDN's IP addresses. The origin server stays hidden, so the CDN is the most precise answer available from the outside.

Is the result always accurate?

Detection is based on public signals. Sites can remove version numbers, rename cookies or render everything on the server, so some technologies may be missing. Programming languages are often inferred from the framework or CMS in use.
