Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know Linux or server administration?

No. Your server comes pre-configured with everything needed to deploy apps. Use git push or let Claude Code handle it via MCP. If you're a power user, you still get full root access.

What is the Claude Code MCP integration?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets Claude Code directly interact with your NameOcean servers. It can list your servers, deploy code, manage domains, and open ports — all from a natural language conversation. Install NameOcean Desktop to enable it.

What languages and frameworks are supported?

Anything that runs on Linux. Python, Node.js, Go, Rust, Ruby, PHP, Java, .NET — you have full root access to install whatever you need. Popular frameworks like Django, Flask, Express, Next.js, Rails, and Laravel work out of the box.

Can I run a database on my server?

Yes. Install PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, or any database you prefer. Your server is a full Linux machine with root access.

How does deployment work?

Each server has a Git remote. Push your code with git push nameocean main and it's live. Your app automatically restarts after each push. You can also deploy through SSH or let Claude Code handle it.

Can I attach my own domain?

Absolutely. Attach any domain or subdomain from your NameOcean dashboard. If the domain is registered with NameOcean, DNS is configured automatically. External domains just need an A record pointed to your server.

Is there a free trial?

We don't offer a free trial, but our Tiny plan starts at $4/month — less than a coffee. You can cancel anytime with no commitments.
